Mount Rainier Radio Control Society is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Chartered Club. Current AMA Membership is required by all flying members.

MRRCS asks that you have a current FULL (or Youth) AMA membership to fly at our club. We currently do not recognize the "Park Flyer" or "Trial" Memberships.

New members are required to attend an on-site orientation.
You will receive your gate key and annual membership sticker at that time.
Orientations can be done at club meetings, or you can schedule a time that is convenient for you.
Be sure to bring a copy of your current AMA card with you. It will also serve as your club membership card.
Please bring your FAA Registration, and TRUST Test certificate with you to orientation.

AMA Membership is required for ALL flying members. We verify AMA for all flying members of our club. You are welcome to join MRRCS as a non-flying member - we enjoy your support.
If you want to fly, but do not have a AMA current membership - please let us know if you are in the process of obtaining or renewing membership with the AMA. You will be expected to have an active AMA membership as soon as possible in order to fly.
Sort of... MRRCS does not offer a monthly plan, nor do we have any monthly pro-rate programs. But we recognize that sometimes folks need a little bit of flexibility and DO have a semi-annual payment program for returning members.
If a returning member desires, semi-annual payments may be made. The first payment of $75.00 is due by January 31st and the second payment of $75.00 is due not later than June 30th. If the second payment is not made by June 30th, this option will no longer be available to the member.
New members dues for their initial year shall be $200.00 ($150.00 dues + $50.00 runway fee) if their join date is before June 30th of the current year.
Dues for new members joining after July 1st shall pay $125.00 ($75.00 dues + $50.00 runway fee) for the remainder of their initial year.

If you find that there are circumstances where an extreme hardship exists, please contact a club officer for any available options. Often, we can find a sponsor to cover your dues.
Yes! MRRCS recognizes and thanks our Military members for their service! We understand that there are times when you cannot take advantage of your full year membership with the club. Dues for active duty military personnel can be adjusted to accommodate individual situations. The determination will be made on a case-by-case basis by the president or the vice president.

Renewal dues are to be paid not later than January 31st. Each member must complete an application upon renewal of membership. If your AMA membership expires during the calendar year and is not timely renewed, flying privileges will be revoked.

Nope! Each member must complete an application upon renewal of membership. Our online membership form is quick and easy and shouldn't take too much time for you to complete.
This helps keep your information current with the club. The AMA requires all chartered clubs to submit accurate roster information.
Included with your full, paid membership is the provision to add an additional household member for free. This person will NOT have club voting privileges, but are welcome at the flying site, and all club meetings and events.
Typically these members are a spouse or partner, a child (adult supervision required), or other family member living in your home. If they have their own AMA membership, they are welcome (and encouraged!) to fly at our field. AMA membership will be verified for all additional flying members.
